In addition to building the Cochise Family Advocacy Center in 2015 and being the President of Rutherford Diversified Industries, Inc., Mike Rutherford also has a long list of committee involvements in the Southern Arizona community. He is a partner in Groth, Rutherford & Scott, LLC, the Treasurer of the Southeastern Arizona Contractors Association and serves as the representative for SACA to the Registrar of Contractors Industry Advisory Council.  His other community involvements include the SACA building committee, serving as the chair of the Building Code Advisory & Appeals Board for Cochise County, and the Historical Soldier Relocation Project. In his spare time Mike is also the President of the Arizona Folklore Preserve located in Ramsey Canyon in the Huachuca Mountains, which provides live music 40+ weekends a year.  To fill in the voids, RDI owns a “Super Late Model” race car that runs at Tucson Speedway.

Nancy has lived in this area for 24 years. She and her husband Chet are active members of Calvary Chapel Church. They enjoy traveling in their RV to see more of Arizona and visit their families in Iowa and Wisconsin.


Nancy has a Master of Arts degree in Industrial Relations from the University of Minnesota. She worked for Control Data in Bloomington, MN. for 13 years in the field of management training and team development. The company operated in 30 plus different countries and Nancy had the pleasure of experiencing about  25 of them.

Nancy and Chet donate to several charities each year and she was a certified volunteer at Valor hospice. Nancy became aware of Lori's place through a women's bible study at church and was impressed by the goals of the organization. She finds it a pleasure to be able to serve on the board of directors.

Mrs. Rutherford is a Registered Nurse, a trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, a Certified Forensic Nurse and a Certified RN Auditor/Coder. Lori has 35 years of service at Sierra Vista Regional Health Center. She also has had experience in teaching, management and supervisory positions as well as hands on nursing in many specialties. Lori has experience in Medical/Forensic exams both with adults and children and is qualified as an expert witness in Superior and Federal Court as well as having extensive experience in fact witness testimony.​​​​​​​​​​

    It is notable Lori has been married for 50 years, has lived in Sierra Vista, Arizona for 38 years, has two grown children, has traveled extensively, and loves God and Country.

Caitlin moved to Sierra Vista in 2010 and has spent time abroad learning about different cultures and doing missionary work. She received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Human Services where she studied Criminal Justice and Psychology. She has experience working with children of all ages, from formerly teaching pre-school to individually mentoring at-risk elementary kids.


Caitlin is actively involved in  Prison Fellowship, where teams host workshops and build relationships with inmates. She has seen how perpetrators have often been victims themselves and is passionate about ending the cycle and restoring healthy boundaries. Caitlyn also works as the Communication Strategist for Thunder Mountain Church where she oversees public relations and marketing.  Caitlin's tenure on the CFAC Board began in October 2020. Her desire is to use her skills and passions to support Lori's Place and ultimately help clients throughout Cochise County.

The Cochise Family Advocacy Center is accepting applications for its board of directors.

The CFAC  seeks Board members who demonstrate the following skills and interests:

•Communications – expertise in developing and executing social media and other communications strategies

•Public Policy – experience and skills in advocating for public resources in support of national service programming

•Resource Development – demonstrates experience in fundraising, including event planning and/or success securing private grants in support of associations

•Legal – expertise working with law enforcement agencies.
